Firefly Music Festival takes place in Dover, Delaware at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway. The Woodlands are 154 acres of lush, wooded festival grounds tucked away within the beautiful 840 acre sports complex. Located within Dover city limits, festival goers are just a short walk from restaurants, hotels, a casino, universities, and shopping. Wherever you are on the East Coast, Firefly is not far! Dover is located in close proximity to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, and New York City, among many other major East Coast cities. DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center (TMC) staff will monitor the amount of traffic in and around the Dover area to ensure safe and smooth travel for motorists as they head to the festival, restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and other local attractions. The TMC will use various technologies to efficiently and safely move the thousands of motorists utilizing Dover roadways this weekend. A total of 8 “real-time” traffic cameras along the Route 13 Corridor will be continuously monitored. The TMC will control entrance and exit traffic to the racetrack and will be assisting with any delays or problems. The Delaware State Police helicopter will be used for aerial observations of the racetrack area, and the Civil Air Patrol will be used as needed to monitor traffic patterns throughout the busy weekend, weather permitting. Guests can visit the Smyrna Rest Area at Exit 119 near Smyrna for information and refreshments. The Smyrna Rest Area is open 24 hours each day. Motorists should check the DelDOT’s website at www.deldot.gov for updated travel -related information and live video of traffic conditions at www.deldot.gov or tune to WTMC-AM 1380 for up-to-the-minute traffic conditions.
AABus is a regional charter bus that services NYC, Baltimore, Wilmington, Albany, Norfolk, Smyrna, and Dover. Greyhound services all major cities and will take you straight to Dover. DART First State also provides weekday local bus service throughout Dover, radiating from the Water Street Transfer Center in downtown. They also provide inter-county service from the Amtrak stop in Wilmington for $4.50 (must pay with cash on bus). Greyhound Lines are also provided as inter-city bus transportation.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority or SEPTA has regional trains that will take you to Wilmington from Trenton, Philadelphia and all surrounding areas. The drop off point is at the Wilmington Amtrak Station, which is the closest private passenger rail station to Dover. There is a DART and Greyhound bus line that will take you from Wilmington to Dover and they can be booked in conjunction with an Amtrak ticket.
The closest airports with commercial air service to Dover include the New Castle Airport near Wilmington, DE (40 miles away), the Wicomico Regional Airport in Salisbury, Maryland (60 miles away), the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Baltimore, Maryland (85 miles away), and the Philadelphia International Airport in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (70 miles away).
Day parking at Firefly is easy and only $10/day! Parking takes place on-site at Dover International Speedway, a short walk from the festival entrance. All cars must vacate the parking lot by 4:30am each morning. Any vehicle remaining in the lot after that time will be towed. Accessible parking is available for those with a verified ADA placard or license plate. The person to whom the placard or plate is issued must be present in the vehicle, as a driver or passenger. If you have a condition that may limit your mobility, please speak to your physician to obtain the appropriate documentation. Will Call and Overnight Parking will be located at the Dover Mall.
There will be a designated bike parking area located in Lot 9 at the corner of Persimmon Tree Lane and Pit Stop Lane right across from the Southwest Festival Entrance. This is the only area where bicycles are permitted to park near the festival grounds.
The festivals designated parent pick-up/drop-off area is located on the Southwest corner of Speedway near the entrance to Infield Glamping/RV. There is another parent drop-off and pick-up on area on the North side of the property at the entrance to Lot 18. It is located on the corner of Persimmon Tree Lane and Moore Farm Lane. This area will be open 2 hours prior to festival gates opening until 4:30am each day.
